ENGINEERING

Q: Do we still have civil engineers? What do they do?

A: Civil engineering is indeed a very old engineering discipline. We can still see aqua ducts and roads built by the Romans throughout what used to be their ancient empire. Today's engineers embrace a variety of disciplines including structural, water resources, environmental, construction, transportation, and geotechnical engineering. Civil engineers apply their knowledge to design and supervise the construction of roads, buildings, airport, tunnels, dams, bridges, and also our water supply and sewage systems. -- Linda Byard

A: I have rarely met a civil engineers, most of the ones I have met were rude, boorish and dragged their nuckles on the ground -- Richard Krakow
