PSYCHOLOGY
We
humans fit somewhere into the ecosystem? Are you aware of how trees are
essential for our
existence?. (Some people are wilfully blind about such things). Are you
able to clear away the noise and early indoctrination. Make no mistake,
humans have come into competition with trees and we need to restore the
natural
relationship. Do you compute that
tree numbers and tree health are high up in the existential WAR being
fought for the planet?

What can I do?
Authority or permission is the first
requirement.
EDUCATION
Promoting
Scientific Literacy especially among the young. The young people are
not to be denied a say in their future and we need to equip them with
the tools to achieve effective control of their environmrnt. Ecosystem
Processes need to be taught. ~ Fake green measures such as biomass and
Biofuels need to be debunked.
CAMPAIGN
Puting pressure on governments to stop activities that are
actually
damaging. This includes subsidising activities that
damage trees and forests, for example subsidies for upland sheep
farming.Subsidies to owners of tree plantations.
In Scotland to campaign against Sheep Farming. Grouse Shooting and Deer
Stalking. All of these continue to destroy the remaining trees and
prevent regrowth.
Protect the
forests.
Find other people and band together. Be clear about objectives and
communicate them to
those you wish to convince.
Naming and shaming the denialists and the polluters.Puting pressure on
governments to clean up the forestry industry.
Use Oxygen Blackmail, also Offset Shaming
Lobby governments to enforce Deep Decarbonisation.
BOYCOTT
Where possible buy from the more responsible corporations and avoid
interactions with institutions that contribute to damage to our forests
and cause climate change. Approximately 80% of carbon emissions come
from industry. 90% of freshwater goes the same way and over 90% of
waste materials comes from non-domestic sources.

GETTING ACTIVE
If you intend to perform any
activity
within a forest remember that even though trees belong to everyone (and
themselves) that authority or permission is the first
requirement.
Is there a local tree volunteer/Warden scheme Who is your local tree
champion? Is there one in your area? Could you
become a local node in a network? Could you be a helper? A Defendero,
perhaps?
There are several databases that need to be
populated, Treezilla
is one, It can be
updated with data on trees growing in the neigbourhood.
Create a network of like minded people, Experts, Planters, Wardens.
However please note that storing data on people
can expose them to risk.
Turn up at your local Town Council, Parish Council or equivalent and
ask question (Without alienating anybody)
PROTECTION
Toughening up the laws on
Tree Protection. ~ Sheep and deer grazing kills the seedlings. ~ Sheep owners to be held
responsible for
seedling damage. ~
Land ownership (example Church of England estate ownership in Scotland)
Estate ownership for game production, Laws encouraging tree
protection. ~ State and commercial forestry. The industry depletes the
fertility
of the land
and introduces alien species. ~ Action

PRACTICAL ACTION
1. You can plant a tree at the bottom of your back garden or
somewhere
you have control its destiny (trees can have a destiny) Perhaps you can
share a tree with a neighbour, or more than one, this can be done where
three or four gardens meet.
2. Hedgerow tree planting. YWhere the are beneficial you
will usually be permitted to plant trees
in a farmers hedgerow.

THERAPEUTIC
Mental illness and emotional pproblems, also alcoholism and addiction
can be addressed and helped by a dedication to a worthwhile project.
Create and maintain a forest. Even something like planting and
protecting urban trees is useful. We humans can improve mood and
well-being. A beautiful forest is one of
the best place to be.
Protection
Education is
needed. Much more and better use of the law. We all have to find ways
of weakening and undermining the power of those who would damage the
environment and planet.
