Limescale problems

Q: Removing Limestone Stains. I would be most grateful if you could advise me on removing limestone marks from
1) the taps under the shower, and
2) from granite marble around and behind the tap in the bathroom (the marble has taken on a whitish layer).
Thank you so much in advance. -- Gillian Oren Reply (Ref:0135)

A: Use half a lemon or brush with vinegar, you can usually buy limescale cutting fluids from your hardware store, these can be very effective but test them out on a piece of the marble that does not show in case it damages it. -- Anon Comment

Q:   My iron. I have used plain tap water in my iron and I am afraid I have ruined  it because of mineral build up.  What can I use to clean my iron.  I thought of pouring vinegar and letting it set over night.  So if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.  Thank you -- Mark Rodriguez Reply

A:  If you use de-mineralized or distilled water it will gradually remove the limescale. Lemon juice or vinegar should help to remove the build-up. Good luck -- Essie Reply
